It's about time for a New Blog

Hello Everyone! The last time I posted a blog was I think March or April...so a little more than a half a year later here I am again- finally posting a new blog! Well, not really much has happened since I last posted, nothing exciting or anything except for Kyle getting a job working with an Ogden City Engineering Company and me getting into the Special Educatiton Program here at Utah State. We have mostly been encompassed with school and work, trying to push through this hard semester! It's kicking both of our bottoms! We both have really hard classes, lucky for me, I think they will be getting easier here on out because I will be done with my generals, but for Kyle his classes just get harder and harder. He is so smart though! He will tell you otherwise, but he does really well in all his classes! I am so proud of him!

Another exciting thing that has happened to me I forgot to mention was that I joined the USU's contemporary dance team and have been loving dancing again! I didn't know USU had a dance team (they don't even have a dance program) but I found out about the team the day of try outs, so I tried out that day and made it. =) I'm so glad I did. It's a big blessing to be dancing again. I don't have any pictures yet from dancing but I will soon. I will mostly just post a lot of pictures from what has happened these past couple months and talk about it along with the picture starting with the most recent to the least recent.

I tried to zoom this picture but for some reason my computer isn't working right, but this is a picture of our friend Don Lindsey and us. Don is a really good friend of ours, particularly of Kyle because they have been friends since high school. Don came to visit us over the Halloween weekend mostly to spend time with Kyle. They had fun playing Nintendo and answering the door for trick or treaters while I was performing at the Howl (USU's big Halloween dance party). Don is really working hard on going on a mission soon and Kyle has been a good friend in encouraging him to do so. He is a really nice guy and we had a lot of fun with him over the weekend.
The night before Halloween, we went to a mystery murder dinner party at our good friend's house- The Hartley's. Kyle served in the same mission area as Tyler Hartley and they just happened to live at our old apartment with us when we first moved to Logan. We had a blast at this party playing this fun game of "who done it" murder mystery- like Clue- and we were the characters. We were assigned to be certain characters at this party and Kyle was a mummy who's goal was to sacrifice one of the characters to the Egyptian God's and I was a dentist who performed horrifying dental procedures on all of the characters there. Kyle's costume started out really great..............but towards the end of the night he transformed from a creepy mummy to a creepy guy sitting in a bunch of toilet paper.....

Here are some more pics from the night:

These are pictures of what our house looked like a couple weeks ago when the leaves all fell from the big tree in front of our hose- there were a ton of leaves and you can't see them in these pictures, but it took a long time plus 2 garbage cans and 6 garbage bags full to get them all raked up. We had to stomp on them all to get them to fit too =).

Just a picture of my front door and my Halloween decorations. I made the sign hanging on the door, you can't see it but it is a pumpkin that says Happy Halloween inside of it. =)

We had a lot of squash from our garden that didn't grow all the way because we planted them too late, so we painted them for Halloween. The 6 on the right are mine- it's supposed to be a squash family, and the clown looking one on the right is Kyle's. It's supposed to be the Joker from Batman. He did a good job =)

........And we are living in a cereal world and I am a cereal (and birthday) girl!.........

There was a huge sale at Macey's and Albertson's a couple months ago on boxed cereal, they were about $1.25 a box! So we got 40 boxes =) We should be stashed pretty good for the next couple months...we will see how long it lasts. =)

I had a really fun 22nd birthday. Kyle made me breakfast in the morning- crepes with powdered sugar and lemon juice...yum! And then he surprised me by taking me to the Hogle Zoo to see the new baby elephant named Zuri! For those of you who don't know, I am in love with elephants...I always have been ever since I can remember and someday I will get a job as an elephant caretaker...I'm totally serious too. It was so much fun going to the zoo and seeing all of the cool animals, but mostly fun to watch the new cute baby elephant stumble around and show off to the crowd. We watched her for about an hour =).

This is the dad elephant, it just stayed in that same spot the whole time we were there just pacing back and forth and back and forth, but it didn't turn around to go back and forth, it just walked forwards and then backwards and then forwards and then backwards for the whole time we were at the zoo (3 hours)! . He was pretty funny. But not as funny as Zuri the baby elephant!!!.......

This is Zuri- balancing on the pole with her trunk. She was such a show off! She was doing the funniest things.....

trying to climb the pole (and her mom's leg, which you don't see in any of these pics)....

balancing on the balls.....

and on this cement thing which she fell off of quite a few times.... She was just so darn cute!

Another so darn cute thing is this guy right here, he was such a good sport, I made him get in the egg so I could take his picture...he had to wait in line with a couple of 4 year olds to get in though.

Turtle!

Classic Lion zoo picture

He then took me out to Los Hermanos for dinner and we had fried ice cream and smothered burritos....YUM!

We got to stay the night at my parent's house and have Sunday dinner with them. It was wonderful and such a yummy dinner! After dinner my dad crashed on the ground......

But little Eva didn't like that.....she was so cute I had to post these pictures of what she did to Grandpa when he was sleeping..... I can just imagine the thought process that was going through her head:...."Grandpa? What are you doing? Wake up!"

..."Hum, maybe I can pull him up by his shirt..."

..."Nope, too heavy...maybe if I stepped on his hand...."

....."Nope, that didn't work...maybe if I just stare at him with my pretty eyes..."

...."Yup! That worked....come on Grandpa! Get up!"....

..."I love my grandpa"....

Eva is so cute huh! She has the sweetest personality and she loves to climb on things and do "stink bugs" as our family calls them (Eva is doing a stink bug below)...

Here I am with Kyle and Ryan and Zack blowing out my birthday candles in the shape of a heart on pumpkin pie homemade by Kyle! It was so yummy! And nobody even helped him do it! =)

After we had birthday pie we went to Drew's landscape place and played in the hay maze he made, it was really fun...

Aaron coming through the hay door with his "eye" shoes on (he calls them his eye shoes because they are Sponge Bob shoes and Sponge Bob has really big eyes on them, it's cute) =)

Here is Eva doing another stink bug on top of the play house....

And these last pics are of my father-in-law after he ran the Logan marathon, he is such a good runner!

Well, now you have it folks! You have been updated on pretty much everything that has happened since I blogged last (minus the summer pictures we took while on vacation in California with the Shelley family...those pictures are all on our other hard drive and I don't want to dig them out). I hope you like our life because we do!

I was so excited to see all these fun pictures. I hadn't seen where you guys were living yet. Looks like a great starter home. I love all the cute pictures of you guys and of the elephants at the Zoo. Great idea with the cereal. Cheap and easy! Wish we had those kinda deals around here.
