Oh Christmas Tree...

Well, It's the most wonderful time of the year again! December is finally here, we are on our last week of school, and we couldn't wait to put up our Christmas tree! This is our first Christmas tree that is bigger than 2 feet! We got it for free on KSL last year after Christmas when everyone was getting rid of their old trees, and thanks to Grandma Isaac, we got a bunch of beautiful ornaments and decorations from her a couple months ago and now we have a beautiful tree that is sentimental to me because I always loved Grandma's pretty Christmas trees!

Kyle and I look weird in this picture so focus on the tree behind us =)

Anywho, it was really fun to decorate our Christmas tree and put it so it showed in our front window so people can see it when they drive by. Hopefully more Christmassy pictures will be posted of Kyle and I later on in the month.

Kyle and I are starting some new traditions in our home this year for Christmas. We want to start a tradition of doing service for someone during the Christmas season, make a quilt for the homeless shelter or give a family something they need; we aren't quite sure what we can do yet because we are on a limited budget ourselves but we know that there are a lot more people out there who are on a tighter budget than we are and we want to focus our Christmases on what we can give to others instead of what we are getting ourselves. I loved President Monson's talk he gave last night at the Christmas devotional about giving the gift of the light and love of Christ during the Christmas season. He said that the most memorable Christmases come from sharing the gift of love and service and Kyle and I want to make that a part of our lives so that our Christmases will be remembered by what we have done and not by what we got.

Another tradition we want to start is on Christmas Eve we will give each other a special Christmas ornament we can hang on the tree so we can start building our collection of ornaments. The ornament has to be symbolic of the other person and their personality or what they like to do, etc. For example:

Kyle loved dinosaurs when he was little, so I could get him something like this:

I would like to have this one...

Kyle also loves boats...

And of course I love to dance, so Kyle could get me something like this...

I think this will be a fun tradition to start. =)

Thanksgiving was really fun and yummy this year. We got to spend Thanksgiving at my family's house this year and that means we will be spending Christmas with Kyle's family this year too. We love to go home and visit and are very excited to spend time with Kyle's parents because they live in California now. They are coming up here for Christmas so we all don't have to drive down to California, it is so nice of them to do that!

For Thanksgiving, my mom made these fun napkin holders with everyone's faces on them. She went all out this year and the decorations were beautiful! The food was awesome too!

Here is what Kyle and I would look like as pilgrims with our pet turkey:

And here is the feast, it was SO good! (I like Jake's face in this picture):

And here is my first Thanksgiving dish I made myself, candied yams!:And Kyle and I at Thanksgiving:

Thanksgiving was awesome!

Switching topics, here is a picture of us at one of my dance concerts I just had a week ago, he filmed it all and was such a good sport to sit through all of the concert even though I was just in 3 numbers. I love dancing, it is such a blessing to have this outlet in my life. It is something I love doing, it makes me feel good, and I love to perform. It is something I will always be doing no matter where I am in life. I am grateful to be on a dance team again and get to share my abilities and choreography! Here in a couple weeks I, along with some other girls on my team, will be performing a number I choreographed in a Christmas concert put on by Craig Jessup- the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's old director person. It should be a fun experience and I hope that it will look good =)

And last but not least, here is a picture of me and my good friend Laura. She was my roommate when I was in Romania and we became really close friends, I love her dearly! She has always been such a great example to me and has always been such a caring and loving friend. She is genuine and such a great friend. I hope I can be like her someday. She came and visited me before Thanksgiving on her long journey she took from Idaho visiting her other friend. She wanted to visit me too, but got lost on the way and instead of going home, she still came even after hours and hours of driving with her new baby crying in the car. I'm so glad that she did decided to still visit me even though she was so exhausted. We had dinner together and had a good talk and it was so good to see her again! Thanks Laura!

Well, that is all, you are now all updated on what has happened in the past month. Hopefully the next time I post I will post more Christmas stuff and be able to talk about our opportunity to serve others this Christmas...whatever that may be! Let me know if you have any good ideas =) Thanks for reading. Life is good. Logan is cold but great. We love being married and we love each other. And we are so grateful for our lives that have been blessed so much by our Heavenly Father and our Savior- Jesus Christ. We are so grateful for our families who are always there for us and we are so grateful for all that they do for us! See you in a couple weeks!
