Kyle and I on Christmas Eve
The Shelley family on Christmas Eve at Salem Pond
Mine and Kyle's ornaments we gave each other for Christmas. If you remember on the last blog I posted I talked about our new tradition of giving each other ornaments that represent each other on every Christmas Eve so we can build up our ornament collection and I posted this picture of an ornament I found online that I thought was cute:
Well, I didn't know this but Kyle saw it on our blog and went and bought a plain white ornament and painted the exact same picture on it for me without me knowing. I thought he was just going to buy an ornament for me, like I bought his, but he's so sneaky and cute, he decided to make it instead. He even used my own paints in my craft drawer! I didn't think that he even knew where those were. It was really cute that he read our blog and knew I thought that ornament was cute and he went ahead and painted it on his own and he did a really good job as you can tell =). Gifts are always better when there is time, effort, and love put into them, what a special ornament this is to me!
The rest of these pictures are from Christmas morning:
Kyle's sister, Ashely and I
Kyle's cute nephew, Nathan
Kyle and his nephew Jared
Kyle's sister, Amber and our niece Megan
Kyle's sister and brother-in-law and nephews- Alisha and Ronnie, Nathan and Jared
I love this picture of Jared
Kyle's little brother, Garrett
Mom and Dad Shelley
Kyle and I with my Christmas present on my hand- he got me wedding bands to go with my engagement ring for Christmas this year, thanks honey!
This was Kyle's Christmas present, he got a new suit for Christmas. He is so handsome!
Garrett had us for Christmas and gave us a fishing pole. We wanted one really bad because Kyle and I love fishing. Before we left after Christmas, Kyle's dad gave us his fishing pole and tackle box full of hooks just because he wasn't going to use it and because he is super nice like that! We can't wait to go fishing together in the summer!
After Christmas morning at the Shelley's, we headed on over to my house to spend Christmas afternoon at the Isaac's. This is Kyle's new tie that he got from my mom that he loved!
My mom and her presents I gave her- a charm bracelet and earrings I made for her
This is my niece, Eva. She is so funny, she was going crazy with all of the candy that was on the floor and she was trying to eat as much candy as possible without her mom knowing so she would sneak around to everyone and try and get them to open the candy for her- like she is doing to me in this picture. It was adorable.
My little brother Jake and Dallin; Jake is wearing his Utah State hat we gave him for Christmas and Dallin with his fish scale- an actual scale to weigh fish he got for Christmas that he wanted so badly.
Allison and I with the wonderful bag of presents she gave me for Christmas
We went sledding the next day at Spanish Fork golf course with Kyle's family. This is Ashley and Kyle.
This is Ashley flying through the air after she went off the biggest ice jump I have ever seen. I was so scared that she was going to hurt herself but she landed safely. I love this picture.
After sledding we went to Wingers with Amber and Dave and their kids- Megan and Jackson, and Garrett, and Ashley. Wingers is a favorite family restaurant of both our families. Yum!
When we were dating in high school I remember Kyle not ever wanting to take me to Wingers because he was embarrassed at how he ate his wings so I took this picture to tease him about that =) I can see why he would be embarrassed but I think it's cute how he has a certain technique on how to eat your wings- "You have to suck on them" he says. He tried to teach me how but I prefer the sticky fingers over the wings. He currently holds a 3rd or 4th place record at the Logan Wingers for eating 20 wings in one sitting...which isn't a lot compared to the 1st place record of a man who at 120 wings in one sitting. I think he was a professional heavy weight wrestler or something, wow!
The Sunday after Christmas, my grandma held a fun Isaac family Christmas party at her house. I love Grandma's Christmas parties; they are always so fun to go to. Here is my dad belting out a song for his talent in Grandma's talent show we always hold at Christmas time at her house.
Here is what Kyle did for his talent- played the berinbal- a Brazillian instrument they use in playing music for dance/fighting form of art called capoeira. He brought it back with him from his mission- carried it with him all the way through the airports but when he got to the U.S. they almost took it away from him because they thought it was a bow and arrow. =)
We went sledding again with the Shelley's on Monday and then went back to Tyler and Kristi's (Kyle's older brother and his wife)- church and played games and had a yummy dinner Kristi made. It was really fun and so pretty where we went sledding!
Well, that's our Christmas in a nutshell! It was a lot of fun and we received many wonderful gifts from our families that we are so thankful for. We had a blast spending time with our families enjoying the true spirit of Christmas and family. We can't wait to do it again next year!
