Just the Three of Us

No no, I'm not pregnant. I've just been waiting for so long to change my blog name to "Just the Three of Us" and, well, getting a dog isn't the way I planned on doing that but it works for now and I sure love my new baby =). Her name is Sammy. She 12 weeks old and she is a Biewer Yorkshire Terrier and she is the sweetest, most lovable dog I have ever met.

I've been bugging Kyle for about a year now and trying to get him to cave in to buying me a dog but it hasn't worked until now and it couldn't be better timing. Sammy is helping me through this time in my life and making it bearable. Now when I see pregnant women or the hundreds of new babies at our church I don't get jealous and I don't get sad. I think of my dog I have to take care of at home and that comforts me. You might think it is silly but I don't. She's adorable and I think she was meant for me. We kind of bought her on a whim. I saw her on KSL and she was the last puppy out of her litter and a really good deal.... and she was a girl (I didn't want a boy). I called the owners and found out that she will be a bigger Yorkie (between 10-15 lbs.) and wasn't sure if I wanted her because Yorkies are usually between 4-7 lbs. and its fun to have a little dog to sit on your lap and to carry to different places and stuff...But my mom and I decided to drive to Ogden to see her and meet her parents anyways(I met my mom at the airport to give her her dog that I had been tending while she was in Canada so that is why she was with me). Anywho, the visit to the dog owner's house sealed the deal and I was glad to have my mom with me to help make the decision. She knows a lot about dogs and knows how to tell if the dog is a good one or not. She was really impressed at how calm Sammy's parents were and what good dogs they were. They were so tame. They were very nice and didn't bark the whole time we were there. They jumped up on the couch next to us and layed right on our laps and wanted to be pet. And of course, Sammy was adorable. She was this little ball of fur and love. My mom couldn't believe how good these dogs were and she wanted me to get Sammy just as much as I wanted her so we put a down payment on her and I picked her up the next day.

It doesn't bother me that Sammy will be a bigger dog, in fact, it will probably be better in the long run. Kyle likes bigger dogs and little dogs are so easy to step on! Plus, when we do have kids it will be better for Sammy to be bigger in case our kids are rough with her. But she is the sweetest thing I have ever met. We've had her for a week and a half now and I've only heard her bark like 3 times. And she doesn't wine much either, only when I put her in her crate when I leave to go teach dance. She also loves to cuddle! She will just lay right next to me and fall asleep. In fact, this is a picture of her cuddling with my arm as I am typing right now.....

Cute huh. I really enjoy her and Kyle does too. =) We are excited for her to join our family and we are grateful that we found her. =) Here is a picture of her cuddling up to her duck toy on the couch. She's so cute.

Kaitlyn, I'm glad you have had so much fun with Sammy. She is definitely the cutest dog I've ever seen. That's neat that she has been a blessing to you and Kyle. You deserve it. Love, Mom Shelley
