Thoughts Anyone?

Hey Ya'll,
So I had to make this quick post and ask for everyone's thoughts and advice. For the past couple days I have just had this feeling like this baby could be coming really soon BUT I have never done this before and I don't know if the reasons for my thinking is just what everyone woman thinks on her last month of pregnancy so I would like to hear your opinions. Here are my reasons why I think he may come soon:

Reason #1. I got Braxton Hicks contractions for a couple weeks during the first part of the 2nd trimester and they were irregular and annoying- not painful, but annoying. After those couple weeks they have stopped completely and I haven't had them again until this week. They are more frequent than they were when I had them before and not necessarily painful either but more intense (more tight?) and still just as annoying. I get them at least once an hour- sometimes more, especially if I am doing a lot of things.

Reason #2. I don't see how my skin can stretch even further than it already is and I don't see where another stretch mark is going to fit on my tummy.... I feel like he is so crammed in there...how is he possibly going to get any bigger?

Reason #3. I just have a feeling. Plus, we don't have everything ready all the way just yet so I am nervous that he will come before we get everything all ready.

Okay...these reasons really suck but please let me know if I am normal or not in thinking them. My family (sisters and mom) have all gone over their due dates with all of their babies so I was expecting to do the same thing but I feel like that may not happen for me. I've got 4 weeks left and I just don't want to pack my hospital bag and quit work just yet. I'm just hoping he stays in there for at least 2 more weeks to fully cook before coming out.

If I'm having true contractions they should hurt right? So no matter how often I get Braxton Hicks contractions just as long as they aren't painful that means that I'm not in true labor right? Just wanted to know your thoughts. Thanks guys. =)

If I were you...I wouldn't worry too much. I don't know about that "feeling" that you're having...but as for everything else, it sounds pretty normal to me. I've been having LOTS of Braxton Hicks and some with pain, but my midwives say it's nothing to worry about and I don't feel like I did the first time with true contractions.
My advice...don't stress too much! You'll know when those real contractions start!
Good luck!

I had pretty regular braxton hicks contractions for the last month or so of my first pregnancy. Just when I thought there was no possible way I could get any bigger or stretch any more...I did. Our bodies are amazing! I think everyone gets nesting anxiety too! I always felt like there was more that I needed to do to prepare for Gabriel's arrival. I was just sure I was going to have him this week.....okay, maybe next week.....uhhh..maybe next week. He ended up coming late!

Bottom line: you're not crazy! It's totally normal to feel the way you do. :-)

Unlike a lot of people, I DID have Braxton Hicks contractions during my real labor...but, I was also having pretty bad lower-back pain. So, if you are having lower-back pain (not your normal pregnancy back...), then it could be the real thing. I also had a few other signs--I could tell my lining was getting thinner (I don't want to gross anyone out so that's all I'll say). If you have any other questions, give me a call or email!
Good luck with the last little bit!
